Edward Albert Schrader

We are sad to announce the passing of Edward Albert Schrader on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 4:20 p.m. in the Red Deer Hospital ICU.

He grew up on Schrader Flats near the James River Bridge and attended school in Caroline, Alta., where he made many lifelong friends. Rodeo was his life — his passion for horses and the rodeo lifestyle defined him.

Edward was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, stepdaughter Gabrielle, and brother-in-law Shane.

He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne; his children: Jessica (Peter), Steve (Kara), and Austin (Ireland); his bonus children Abigail (Daryl), Paulson (Raelynn), and Emily (Kyler); his sister Joanne; his brother Eugene; and his six grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

His love for horses and the rodeo life will live on through his family and legacy.

A celebration of life for Edward will be held at the Caroline Hub, Caroline, Alta., on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1 p.m. Overnight camping will be available Saturday night with washrooms and showers provided.
