Jean Marilyn Stewart
June 16, 2026

Jean Marilyn Stewart (née Dageforde) passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, in Rocky Mountain House, Alta., at the age of 93.

Jean was born in Didsbury, Alta. After graduating, she trained and worked as a laboratory and X-ray technician before marrying the love of her life, Larry Stewart. Together they made their home in Red Deer, Alta., where they raised their four children.

Jean will be fondly remembered for her years as a successful Tupperware manager and, above all, for the ministry that she and Larry built together, Camp Living Water. Camp became the passion and focus of their lives for decades. Through the camp, countless lives were touched by their hospitality, generosity and unwavering Christian faith.

Jean’s relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Her faith guided her through every season and remained her greatest source of strength and joy until the day she entered her eternal home.

Jean is lovingly remembered by her children: Dirk Stewart of Red Deer, Alta.; Lorinda Stewart of Nelson, B.C.; and Robin Stewart of Red Deer, Alta. She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were deeply loved.

Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Larry Stewart; her son, Mark Stewart; her grandchildren, Jonathan and Janet (children of Lorinda Stewart); and her great-grandchildren, Ruben Butlin, Elliot Butlin, and Ethan Stewart.

A celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on July 25, 2026, at the Leslieville Hall in Leslieville, Alta. Doors will open at 1 p.m., with the service beginning at 2 p.m., followed by a potluck luncheon. Meat, buns and beverages will be supplied; needed: salads, fruits and desserts.

For questions regarding the service, please contact Lorinda at freespiritcanmore@yahoo.com.

The family invites all who knew Jean to join them in celebrating a life faithfully lived — a life marked by love, service, generosity and an enduring faith in Christ.
